Dear Friends and Family,
While this will be a brief post, I would like to thank you all who prayed for my visiting helper, Gabby Detwiler, from my home church in PA. On Friday night, she was in mid-yawn and dislocated her jaw. I left all my girls in the middle of homework, cooking, and getting ready for church to take her in to Santa Rosa with Pastor Chungo driving. We first went to the dentist that I know and trust who is also very very pregnant right now. She came directly from her prenatal check up to help us out. She was unable to close Gabbys mouth and relocate the jaw by force, and began networking to find able and willing doctors who could help. The same surgeon that helped with Karinas wisdom teeth extraction was available, so we went to visit her in her clinic location at the hospital. After a muscle relaxer, she was unable to close Gabby´s jaw as well. After trying by force many times, with Gabby still in a lot of heart wrenching pain, she called in back up as well. A specialist just so happened to be traveling by bus from a neighboring town and was passing the hospital shortly. He stopped in with a calm and spirit of command that set my heart at ease. Gabby was given one more muscle relaxer and a tranquilizer. His first delicate touch to her jaw sent it back in place, but not centered. After several attempts, and many prayers, the Lord used his hands and wisdom to set Gabbys´s jaw exactly where it needed to be. We left, only having to pay a minimal fee for the medication and NOTHING for the 3 different doctors we visited. While I was certainly concerned over Gabby´s wellbeing, the Lord moved mountains in my faith as He knew I was stretched for finances having paid for my 2 year permanent permission last week. He goes before us and is SO GOOD! Gabby was pain free the following day and is back to normal. We are grateful that whether in Honduras or in the States, our God is faithful to provide ALL of our needs and leave our mouths wide open in amazement at His provision!
The Lord is at work in amazing ways here, purifying this servant of His in MANY ways. While I certainly had some difficulties with one of my girls last week, and AGAIN this week... He´s been faithful, and Glenda has made the decision to follow Jesus! She trusted Him as her Savior last night, understanding she was a sinner unable to stand in the presence of God justified by works. She is now a new creature, old things have passed away, and has a bright new, unfading, eternal future ahead of her! PRAISE HIM! Excited to see where this takes our family!
I have STARTED and rough drafted my prayer letter update for August. I have filled my 2 pages and still have words in my heart unexpressed. The Lord knows I battle with wordiness. I will be aiming to abbreviate the letters this week and have them out next week. Please pray with me in this manner, as time is hard to come by!
Anyway, I love you all and thank you for your prayers in the trivial and enormous matters of life! My arms are being lifted by you, and I am eternally grateful! May you rejoice with me over the one lost sheep that has come home! Its worth it ALL!
All my love in Christ,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my humble blog; it's not much, but it's a place for me to share the ways the Lord is directing, leading, and teaching me to those I love most. The destination is Esperancita, Honduras... a small town in the tropical countryside of Honduras, where God has led me to a mission field of orphaned children who have stollen my heart. The mission is this... to share the love of my Savior Jesus Christ in every way, and every day with these precious children. Esperancita translates to "little hope" in English, and yet I have no small hope for what the Lord can accomplish through my life, and through the lives of these children. I chose to title the blog "El Mayor Amor" (The Greatest Love), because I know the greatest Love quite personally. I love Him, because He first loved me! And, as the Bible commands, I seek to share that all-too-wonderful love with the children to whom the Lord has led me. As I aim to raise these children in the ways of the Lord, and assist with their most basic of needs (physical) and even their most complex of needs (love), please pray for me; That the love of my Savior would shine through my every action, and every deed... that in this area of "little hope" I could demonstrate the "greatest love" that points directly to Christ!
